No Page Regretted

Have you ever regretted reading a book — which one and why?

“Read without regret; every book leaves a door open to the next.”

I regret no page,
no story, no scar—
each book was a flame
that carried me far.

The sweet and the strange,
the broken, the true—
I loved what they gave me,
and what they withdrew.

Let yesterday close;
let new chapters begin.
I turn toward the next one—
and dive gladly in.

Non, je ne regrette rien, Edith Piaf
