Hazel trees

The hazel tree, a source of wisdom old,
Its nuts were sought by salmon in the pool,
Its branches used by druids to behold
The hidden mysteries of nature's rule.

The hazel tree, a symbol of the fire
That burns within the poet's heart and mind,
Its wood was sacred to the goddess Brighid³,
Who brought the gift of inspiration kind.

The hazel tree, a guardian of the well,
Where fairies dwell and healing waters flow,
Its forked twigs can help the seeker tell
Where hidden streams and treasures lie below.

The hazel tree, a wand of power and grace,
Its magic lives in every leaf and nut,
Its lore is woven in the Celtic race,
Its spirit guides us from the hazel hut.
