Fallen leaves

The leaves are falling from the trees
And form a carpet on the ground
A tapestry of colours and shapes
That cover every inch around

The reds and yellows and oranges
The browns and greens and golds
They mingle and contrast and blend
A feast for the eyes to behold

I walk among the fallen leaves
And feel their crunch and rustle
They whisper secrets of the past
And stories of their hustle

They tell me of the seasons gone
And those that are to come
They remind me of the cycle of life
And the beauty of each one
The path was strewn with fallen leaves
