Squirrels

In the green and leafy forest glade
A sturdy oak tree stands with pride and grace
Its branches are a shelter and a shade
For many creatures of the woodland race

Among them are the baby squirrels small
Who scamper on the boughs with nimble feet
They chase each other, leap and tumble, fall
And find the acorns hidden there to eat

They do not fear the wind or storm or cold
For they have found a home within the tree
They know its strength and wisdom, tried and old
Will keep them safe and happy, wild and free

And so they play and frolic all the day Until the sun sets and they sleep away

Frolicking squirrels
Oak tree stands tall and strong
Squirrels find their home in it
They are grateful and happy
Happy squirrels
