Memory

My earliest memory is of sunlight and blueness under a kitchen table. The bright white light was transformed as it streamed in through a high window and gathered a blue haze about itself from cupboards and floor. I felt this small domain to be a calm and soothing place and my friend, a large black and white cat would often come sauntering in to greet me, waving and curling her smooth tail in agreement.

I used ai to illustrate this recollection with a text prompt and DALLE-2 .

“A man who views the world the same way at 50 as he did when he was 20 has wasted 30 years of his life.’

Muhammad Ali

The quote at the start of a YouTube video of footage from the film “Samsara”
seems particularly appropriate to make a bridge between this early memory and my first steps on a journey into anthropology to understand a little more about what it means to be human.
