Nine planetary boundaries we must heed,
Or else we'll face the consequences indeed.

First is climate change, a warming trend,
Melting ice caps and rising sea levels, we must amend.

Next is ocean acidification, a deadly brew,
Killing marine life and coral reefs, it's true.

Third is stratospheric ozone depletion,
A hole in the sky, UV radiation's reception.

Fourth is biogeochemical flows, nitrogen and phosphorus,
Algal blooms and dead zones, they're not for us.

Fifth is land-system change, deforestation and more,
Loss of biodiversity and soil degradation galore.

Sixth is freshwater use, a precious resource,
Overuse and pollution, it's time to change our course.

Seventh is atmospheric aerosol loading,
Air pollution and respiratory diseases unfolding.

Eighth is biosphere integrity, genetic and functional,
Species extinction and ecosystem collapse are potential.

Ninth is release of novel entities, heavy metals and plastics,
Environmental contamination and health risks are drastic.

These planetary boundaries are not to be crossed,
For the sake of our planet's health, they must not be lost.
