The hay meadow is humming with life,
The air thick with the sound of crickets, and thistledown.
I'm weeding the creeping thistles,
But I keep finding these wasp spiders.
They're big and bright and waspy,
And they look like they're wearing armor.
I'm not usually afraid of spiders,
But these ones make me cautious.
I know they're harmless,
But I can't help but think of them as wasps.
And wasps have a painful sting if annoyed.
So I'm slowly and carefully weeding,
Trying not to disturb the spiders.
But I know that one wrong move,
And I'll be running for the hills.
I'm finally finished weeding,
And I can't wait to get out of here.
Whenever I come back to this meadow,
I'll renember there are wasps spiders.
