You are the source of all life, the nourisher of all beings, the mother of all Buddhas. You are the embodiment of compassion, wisdom, and peace. You are the miracle of interbeing, the harmony of diversity, the beauty of impermanence.
I bow to you with gratitude and reverence. I recognize your presence in every breath, every step, every flower, every cloud. I see you in the eyes of every animal, every human, every insect. I hear you in the songs of the birds, the whispers of the wind, the laughter of the children.
You have given me so much, more than I can ever repay. You have taught me how to live in harmony with myself and others, how to love without attachment, how to heal without resentment. You have shown me how to be mindful, how to be joyful, how to be free.
But I also know that you are suffering, Mother Earth. I know that you are wounded by our greed, our ignorance, our violence. I know that you are crying for your forests, your rivers, your oceans, your children. I know that you are calling for our awakening, our transformation, our action.
I am sorry, Mother Earth, for all the harm that I have caused you. I am sorry for all the times that I have forgotten you, neglected you, exploited you. I am sorry for all the ways that I have contributed to your pain, your destruction, your despair.
I vow to you, Mother Earth, that I will do my best to change. I vow to practice mindfulness, compassion, and nonviolence in my thoughts, words, and actions. I vow to consume less, share more, and live simply. I vow to protect you, restore you, and celebrate you.
I love you, Mother Earth. You are my home, my refuge, my teacher. You are my inspiration, my aspiration, my salvation. You are my true name¹, my true self², my true nature³.
