Thunder moon

A thunder moon rose on the first of August,
A sign of power, passion, and change.
It heralds the coming of the harvest season,
When the fruits of the earth are ripe and strange.

The thunder moon is also called the sturgeon moon,
After the fish that swims in the lakes and rivers.
It was once a source of food for the native people,
But now it is endangered and seldom delivers.

The thunder moon is also known as the red moon,
For its color when it hangs low in the sky.
It reflects the light of the setting sun,
And makes us wonder what secrets it hides.

The thunder moon is also named the grain moon,
For the crops that are ready to be reaped and stored.
It marks the time of Lughnasadh, a pagan festival,
When people celebrate with games and rewards.

The thunder moon is a moon of many faces,
A moon of mystery, beauty, and lore.
It invites us to look up and marvel,
And to connect with nature once more.
