A little white pony with her young ones

The Elysian Fields are a concept of the afterlife that originated in Greek mythology. They are described as a place of peace and happiness, where the souls of the righteous and heroic dwell. According to some sources, they are located on the western edge of the Earth by the stream of Okeanos, or in the Underworld as a part of Hades. The ruler of Elysium varies from author to author, but some name Cronus, Rhadamanthus, or Zeus as the lord of this realm. The Elysian Fields are also known as the Isles of the Blessed or Elysian Plains.
