Equanimity

When troubles come and shake your peace of mind,
And sorrows weigh upon your weary heart,
Do not despair, but seek the strength to find
The equanimity that sets you apart.

For you have learned to face the storms of life
With steady gaze and calm and even breath,
And not to yield to anger, fear, or strife,
But keep your balance in the midst of death.

You know that joy and sorrow both will pass,
And nothing in this world is ever sure,
So you hold on to what is true and lasts,
And in your soul you find a place secure.

You are a model of serene grace, And equanimity lights up your face
Balance
