Edge

Tucked away in scruffy twigs Lie the eggs that magic brings

Heron’s egg

Himalayan balsam

Follow me to the water's edge
Where Himalayan balsam grows
A place where the heron's egg
Lies hidden in repose

Amidst the reeds in a tree tall
The heron builds her nest
And there she lays her egg, so small
In hopes it will manifest

A life of grace and beauty rare
Just like the heron's form
The egg holds promise, sweet and fair
Through wind and rain and storm

And as we watch anticipate
As the egg begins to crack
And from its shell, a propagate
In a blissful, wondrous act

For in this small and fragile thing
Lies all that we hold dear
A symbol of hope, of love, of spring
Of life, year after year.

Feathers

Once upon a time, in a magical land ruled by dinosaurs, there was a young Triceratops named Tilly. Tilly was a curious and adventurous dinosaur who loved exploring the world around her. One day, while wandering through the forest, Tilly stumbled upon a mysterious, glowing egg.

Without thinking, Tilly nudged the egg, and it cracked open, revealing a beautiful bird inside. The bird chirped happily, and Tilly was filled with wonder and amazement. She had never seen anything like it before.

As the days passed, Tilly watched the bird grow, fascinated by the way its feathers seemed to change and shift with each passing moment. Tilly realized that the bird was growing feathers as it traveled through time, being reincarnated over and over again.

Inspired by the bird's transformation, Tilly set out on a quest. She wandered far and wide, exploring new lands and meeting all sorts of creatures she had never seen before. She saw towering trees, rolling hills, and sparkling rivers. Everywhere she went, she met new friends and discovered new marvels.

As Tilly continued on her journey, she too began to change. Over time, her scales turned into feathers, and she grew wings like the bird she had once found in the egg. She soared through the skies, marveling at the beauty of the world around her.

Before long, Tilly realized that she had traveled through time and space. She had grown from a curious and adventurous Triceratops into a beautiful bird, and then into something even more wondrous. Tilly had become a creature that could explore the world in entirely new ways, and she was filled with joy and gratitude for the journey that had brought her there.

Awaits, unknown

The heron's egg, swathed in mystery,

Holds within a secret key

To unlock the veil that hides

The wonders of the world inside.

Follow me to the mossy shore

Where the heronry nest lies secure,

Amid the branches of the trees

That whisper secrets on the breeze.

There, tucked away in scruffy twigs

Lies the egg that magic brings,

A symbol of the wondrous power

That waits for us in earth and flower.

For in this egg, there lies a spark

Of life and wonder, in the dark

And ancient mysteries it contains

Are whispered secrets from other planes.

Oh, the heron's egg, it holds the key

To unlock the mysteries of tree and sea,

And in its heart, the magic waits

For us to open up the gates.

So come with me to the waters edge

And let us journey to the Heron's nest,

For in that egg, a new life waits

Full of magic, love and grace.
A colourful berd emerges
A colourful bird emerges
