Stolen Jewel

A precious jewel, once so bright
Was stolen from its place one night
The thief slipped in and swiped it away
Leaving behind an emptiness to stay

The gem was a store of mysterious power
But now it was gone, lost in an hour
The owner searched high and low
But the jewel was nowhere to glow

Frustration, anger, and despair
Filled their heart, they felt so bare
The thief had taken something so rare
Leaving them with nothing to share

The days went by, but nothing was found
The precious gem was lost, gone underground
The owner knew they could never replace
The beauty and value of that stolen space

The theft left a wound that wouldn't heal
A scar that reminded of a love so real
The gem may be gone, but memories remain
Of a treasure that was stolen, its value in vain.

Lila had always been a curious and adventurous soul. She was a skilled thief, and had stolen many treasures from the most prestigious sorcerers and wizards in the land. However, her latest heist, the Star of Destiny was different. She had heard legends about the immense power the star possessed, but in her greed, she had ignored the warnings.

As soon as Lila had the Star of Destiny in her possession, she rushed back to her hideout in the forest. She was excited to see her spoils; the jewel that had shimmered like no other. However, upon examining it, Lila found herself perplexed by the stone's powers. The Star of Destiny was unlike anything she had ever seen before. She tried to harness its power, but you cannot control something that you do not understand.

Unbeknownst to Lila, the Star of Destiny had a power beyond her comprehension. As she was lost in her greed, she allowed her young baby to play with the jewel. The baby, too young to understand the danger, touched the stone and cried out in pain as it burned her wrist. Lila panicked and, in a moment of desperation, threw the jewel into a briar patch far away from her home.

Days passed, and Lila had moved on from the Star of Destiny. She had not realized the magnitude of its powers and was now more focused on her next heist. However, a  curious Jackdaw had found the Star of Destiny in the scrub where Lila had discarded it. Pecking at the jewel, the bird became curious about the hypnotic spell it held.

The Jackdaw took the Star of Destiny to its nest, where it remained for days. However, mysterious occurrences began to surround the forest. Trees started to whither, and animals began to act strangely. The forest was in chaos, and Lila could not ignore the disturbances any longer. She realized that she was the cause of the problem.

Lila retraced her steps to where she had thrown the jewel, and she found the Jackdaw's nest. She finally realized what she had done, and wasted no time in taking the Star of Destiny back to the sorcerer of light.

The wizard was furious that Lila had stolen the Star of Destiny, but he was grateful that she had brought it back to him. He forgave her, but the experience taught Lila a valuable lesson. She learned that some things in life are not meant to be stolen or touched, for their powers can be beyond comprehension. And with that, Lila returned to her life of thievery, only this time with a newfound respect for what she took.
