Campfire

Reunion

Tree people

We wander through the woods
With wonder in our eyes
We see the magic all around
The fairies and the fireflies
We laugh and sing and dance
With joy in our hearts
We feel the connection deep
The friendship and the sparks
We explore the hidden paths
With curiosity in our minds
We discover the secrets old
The spells and the signs
We are the dreamers of the night
With freedom in our souls
We live the adventure wild
The stories and the roles

Rose had a feeling it was time for a get together.

They had not seen each other for ten years, but they agreed to meet in the forest where they used to play as kids. It was their old tradition, to gather around the big oak tree and share stories, secrets, and snacks.

Thorn was quick to respond, sensing there might be something intriguing afoot.

They had grown apart over the years, moving to different cities, pursuing different careers, starting different families. But they still felt a bond that was hard to break, a nostalgia that was hard to ignore.

Ivy greeted the others, ribbing them with her witty sarcasm about their youthful sense of adventure.

They arrived one by one, carrying backpacks and flashlights. They hugged and greeted each other, noticing the changes and similarities in their faces and voices. They set up a campfire and sat around it, warming their hands and hearts.

Oak carefully place more of the dry wood he'd collected and stoked the fire.

They talked about their lives, their successes and failures, their joys and sorrows. They laughed and cried, teased and comforted each other. They felt like they were kids again, free and happy. They also talked about the forest, how it had changed and how it had stayed the same.

Willow reminded everyone in her gentle musical voice of the good times they'd had.

They remembered the games they used to play, the adventures they used to have, the mysteries they used to explore. They decided to take a walk around the forest, revisiting their favorite spots and discovering new ones. They saw the old swing, the hidden cave, the crystal lake. They felt a sense of wonder and awe.

Maple ever the sensible one suggested it might be a good time to get back to camp.

They returned to the campfire and decided to spend the night there. They pitched their tents and crawled into their sleeping bags. They looked at the stars and listened to the sounds of the forest. They felt a sense of peace and gratitude. They woke up the next morning and packed their things.

Birch in her quiet, shy way wondered about their reunion.

They hugged and said goodbye to each other, promising to keep in touch and meet again soon. They left the forest with a smile on their faces and a memory in their hearts.
