Home made

Ingredients

  • 400 grams plain white wheat flour
  • 175 grams wholemeal wheat flour
  • 25 grams milled brown flaxseed
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 sachet bread yeast
  • 1 teaspon salt
  • 350 mils warm water

Hand made method

Mix all the ingredients together in a large mixing bowl to make a firm dough. Knead on a floured board for five minutes. Rest in the mixing bowl covered with cling film until doubled in size, for about an hour depending on room temperature. Knock back and knead for another five minutes on a floured board. Place in an oiled loaf tin in the oven for about half an hour then turn the oven on to 180 degrees C and bake for forty-five minutes. To check if ready bottom of tin sounds hollow when tapped.

Bread machine method

Put all the ingredients in the machine mix on dough setting to check consistency then and cook on basic setting.
