What fear have you conquered?
Fear of the dark consumed me.
Sounds in the night loomed large.
Wild blood curdling screeches harbour
danger. Whispers, rustles, scuttling… cant see!
A blackness with imaginings to fill.
Goblins, trolls and strange implings,
Terror and fearsome anguished things.
Storybook spooks gave me chills.
And then not long before one dawn.
A grey shape bathed in moonlight drove
away fear. In my mind now was born
curiosity. A calming happiness wove
tendrils of love from this form.
Fear was banished that night in a grove.
